Competitor Bulletin # 4 (View as pdf)
Road Work Day
There have been delays in the stage road opening up from the winter snow and ice. The road is nearly passable, but there remain sections mid-stage that require more melting and possibly some attention by people with picks and/or shovels, e.g. breaking up ice, removing slushy snow over ice, possibly filling in minor washouts.
We had hoped to have a work day later than THIS Saturday, 18 April, but we need to act soon to achieve as much as possible, as soon as possible, so that Mother Nature can finish the job. I expect a lot of improvement this week because of the warm weather expected. I don't believe we need a lot of people, but this is an official invitation to competitors and volunteers to help on the road. If you can't make it, don't worry about it - too many people on the road could cause problems with route checking Robert and I have to do. We may make a second road work day call closer to the event, depending on conditions.
Contact me (kchamm@sympatico.ca) if you want to work this Saturday for a few hours (any help at all is appreciated, an hour worked is an hour worked!).
Rendezvous: MacDonald's Corners Agricultural Hall, Cameron's Rd, 10AM. See LHFR website for location.
